About Miss Vamp Hawaii Beauty Pageant

Miss Vamp Hawaii is a beauty pageant created in 2010, but unlike other traditional beauty pageants, it is a “vampire beauty pageant,” born and created in Hawaii. It is the first of its kind in Hawaii and in the world.

Similar to other pageants, it features the traditional Q&A portion, a gown/costume competition, crowning the winners with sashes, trophies and prizes. However, unique to this pageant, Miss Vamp Hawaii features a “Moon Bathing Lingerie Competition,” because vampires don’t sunbath; they moonbath, which differs from the bathing suit competition which traditional beauty pageants have.

Miss Vamp Hawaii is held yearly at the historic Hawaii Theatre and going on its 4th year, the pageant has grown in interest and popularity with our local community in all walks of life. Miss Vamp Hawaii has a following that continues to grow with new fans and continued supporters. Miss Vamp Hawaii is open to all women, which ranges from different cultures, various backgrounds, nationalities and age groups. This pageant was created especially for women who may not necessarily feel they belong in traditional beauty pageants because they are unique in their interests, their beauties and in their passions in life.

This pageant was created because we believe that every woman in their lifetime living in our beautiful island should have the opportunity to be able to experience being in a pageant setting. Every woman, every mother, every sister, every daughter, every wife no matter how unique and different they are should have a voice and be heard and to shine. Every woman should be able to showcase their talent and beauty, no matter how old they are and no matter what interest and talents they possess. Like vampires, we take the concept that love and passion never dies, everyone is ageless and timeless and growing old should never be a factor to hinder growth and development and dreams. There should be a pageant made for everyone, regardless of age, height, bodyweight and interest because we believe in the familiar saying: “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.”

Mahalo and Aloha !
